Germany's Central Asia strategy

Since gaining their independence in 1991, the five Central Asian republics have fostered close ties with Germany based on partnership. In addition to its commitment within the framework of the EU-Central Asia Strategy, Germany is also actively engaged in various ways at the bilateral level.
