Water sharing between Central Asian countries has been conflicting for quite a long time already.
Jenniver Sehring
Dr Jenniver Sehring is a Policy Associate at Ecologic Institute since 2011. Her works constitutes consultancy and research on the implementation of REDD+ and regional water cooperation in Central Asia. Prior to joining Ecologic Institute, Dr. Sehring was a Political Adviser to the Special Representative for Central Asia of the European Union (EU) on Water. Previously, she worked at universities of Wuerzburg, Hagen and Giessen in Germany, where she was involved in several research projects on environment, water, energy and climate change in Central Asia. Dr Sehring studied Political Science and Social Anthropology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany) and completed her PhD in 2008 at the FernUniverstät in Hagen. In her PhD dissertation, she analyzed the politics of water institutional reforms in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
