Water sharing between Central Asian countries has been conflicting for quite a long time already.
ADBN’s member, Dr. Iskander Abdullaev selected as the Executive Director of CAREC
At end of 2012, ADBN member Dr. Iskander Abdullaev was selected as Executive Director of Central Asian Regional Environmental Center (CAREC). Founders of CAREC are Central Asian countries consisting of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Commission (EC). Dr. Abdullaev will be leading CAREC’s programs from its headquarters in Almaty, Kazakhstan while overseeing the country offices operate in all the five member Central Asian countries.
