FMs of Turkic speaking countries agree upon implementation of social projects in Afghanistan
On February 6, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov attended the meeting of foreign ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States on the margins of the 12th Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Cairo, the foreign ministry said today.
During the meeting Secretary General of the organisation Halil Akinci talked about the issues on the agenda of the organisation and highlighted the works done to achieve observer status at international organisations, upcoming ministerial meeting of economy and transport as well as the meeting of diaspora organisations of Turkic speaking countries in Baku.
Ministers agreed to further strengthen activities of the organisation and to implement joint social projects in the region, particularly in Afghanistan.
Foreign Minister also held separate meetings with his counterparts from Pakistan and Kyrgyz Republic. During the meetings they discussed the state of bilateral relationship and exchanged views about cooperation within international organisations.
