Tajikistan plans to build six small hydropower plants in 2013, Tajik Energy and Industry Ministry told Avesta.
The capacity of the future hydropower plants will hit 300 kW -1 MW per hour.
According to the source, the majority of the planned projects will be implemented in Tajik Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
In particular, two hydropower plants will be built on Aksu river in Murghab district.
Earlier Tajik government agreed with German government on financing of small hydropower plants on Aksu River.
"The German party has allocated 5 million euros to development and implementation of these projects' feasibility study," the source said.
According to the source, the total capacity of these two power stations will hit 2.1 MW. The HPPs will allow to ensure non-stop electricity supply to the regional center of Murghab and nearby settlements.
