Water sharing between Central Asian countries has been conflicting for quite a long time already.
Uzbekistan to direct $385 mln towards increase in liquefied gas production
Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company in 2012 - 2013 will invest $ 385 million in projects to construct new LNG plants and reconstruct the existing ones, the company said.
According to the program developed by company experts, projects to increase the production of liquefied gas will be implemented at the Mubarek gas processing plant, Shurtanneftegas. In addition, the program includes projects on the modernization of the gas fractionation system at Ferghana and Bukhara oil refineries and associated gas utilization project at the Kokdumalak field.
In particular, by the end of 2012 it is planned to complete the construction of a propane-butane mixture plant at the Mubarek gas processing plant worth $ 244 million.
When reaching designed capacity the plant will annually process 12 billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 258,000 tons of liquefied natural gas and 125,000 tons of gas condensate. Supplier of capital equipment is Ukrainian Sum scientific production association.
Project to increase the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) at Shurtanneftegas plant worth $74.3 million includes the construction of the fifth stage of propane-butane mixture plant with capacity of three billion cubic meters of natural gas a year for the additional production of 50,000 tons of liquefied gas annually.
Equipment suppliers are the Russian company 'Kazan machine building production association and Ukrainian Sum scientific production association.
The project is financed from its own funds of Uzbekneftegaz at $36.8 million and loan of the Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan in the amount of $37.5 million.
