Water and energy problem in Central Asia should be solved collectively. Head of economics department of the CIS Institute Aza Migranyan expressed such an opinion at a round table discussion on "Energy Security of Kyrgyzstan in the context of integration".
She noted that at present the issue of energy security, water management in acute in the region. "In this situation Central Asian countries have to reach consensus. Tajikistan is now building the Rogun HPP. Uzbekistan is against this initiative and does not intend to give up. Settlement of this situation may be a collective construction, respectively, the collective distribution of resources", A. Migranyan.
At the beginning of December 2012, Russia and Uzbekistan agreed on project expertise of Kambarata HPP-1, which will be built on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
