Addressing Financing for Agriculture: Ensuring a triple dividend for smallholders

As part of IISD’s Food Security and Climate Change Initiative, this paper provides an overview of the challenge before the international community, the financing needs of smallholders, current sources of financing and mechanisms for delivering these funds. It concludes by providing a number of suggestions for mobilizing additional investment that will enable further progress towards the realization of a “triple benefit” in agriculture activities, with a particular focus on the unique needs of smallholders.
